peace. love. batik.

Today I thought I would share with you a few photos of the batik process.

Aunty Gina has a large backyard where she does her batik work. The pot of water will be used for removing the wax at the end of the process.

Mixing the perfect color.

This is what can happen if the wax gets too hot....

The de-waxing process to remove all wax from the cotton.

Wash and rinse. (This is also how laundry is done, for all of you who thought we had a washing machine)

Stamps galore!

Eli and Emma have the best view for batiking.

My pattern stamped in wax on the white cotton, pre dye bath.

peace. love. batik.
